Use Fixed Assets Self-Service

Use Fixed Assets self-service when the college asks you to respond to a missing-list item assigned to you. The site is at https://assets.aad.vt.edu and uses VT CAS sign-in.

After sign-in, open My missing assets. The page shows current missing-list items the app can match to you from Banner and roster data.

This is not a complete list of every asset connected to your name. If the page is empty, it only means there are no current missing-list items the app can match to you.

Each item shows the asset tag, description, available manufacturer/model or serial details, Banner custodian information, last known location, and how the app matched the item to you.

Pick the option that best describes what you know.

Use this when the item is in your possession.

You must provide:

  1. A clear photo of the item.
  2. Current location details.

When possible, make sure the photo shows the asset and the VT tag or barcode.

Use this when you know where the item is, but cannot submit the item yourself.

You must provide location details and an explanation. A photo is helpful but not required.

Use this when the item appears assigned to you incorrectly or is no longer in your possession.

You must provide notes. Possible current owner and possible current location are optional, but include them if you know them.

Your response goes to the review queue. It does not directly update Banner, remove the item from the missing list, or change the asset record.

A reviewer will use your response for audit follow-up. If a response or evidence submission is already under review for an item, the page will show that status and will not open a duplicate response form.

The Fixed Assets site includes two help options:

  • Guide opens written workflow guidance for users and reviewers.
  • Help opens a short walkthrough for the page you are on.

On My missing assets, the Help walkthrough explains the matched-item count, asset details, response choices, submit-for-review behavior, and pending-review status.
